Game Description

All those carrots look so tempting that you might just snatch them – but what if the wolves have been expecting exactly that, a greedy rabbit just like you? You never know…

Set Up

Put the boards out in the centre of the table, and give each player a deck of cards. Yeah… that’s it.

The game is set up, time to goal the dice!

Om Nom Nom Game Play

The game is lats for 3 rounds.

Each round starts the same way, roll all the dice and put them in the relevant space on the board. The dice in the middle level have black sides and the bottom level had red sides which is important for later.

2 Mice and 3 Cheese are on the Cat board.

Card Play

Each player picks a card from their hand and places it face down then when everyone has a card, they reveal them and place them on the corresponding place on the board.

Then each resolves one at a time, top to bottom and anything on the top level eats whatever is on the middle level, for example, Cats will eat Mice.

The Purple player played the only Cat, so it will eat ALL the mice! The Cheese is safe for this turn.

Eating

If nothing is on the top level, everything in the middle level eats what is on the bottom level. (Mice will eat Cheese)

With no Cats playing, the Yellow and Green Mice will take one Cheese each, the other Cheese will remain on the board.

If nothing is in the middle level, nothing will happen on that board. (Cats won’t eat cheese)

The Purple player played a Cat expecting to catch the Mice who are after the Cheese. No one played a Mouse, so the Cat goes hungry this round.

Everything is divided evenly and cards are eaten first. If a card is ‘leftover’, it is removed from the board and will not be scored this round.

The Two cats eat one Mouse each, the other Mouse card is removed from play and will not score for any player.

If your card is not eaten, it is put in your score pile. Every dice and card you ate is put in your score pile.

You get 1 point for each card of your colour you get back
1 point for each card you eat
1 point for each black die you eat
2 points for each red die you eat

Then players retrieve their hand of 6 cards and the dice are re-rolled for the next round.

Game End

After 3 rounds the game ends.

Whoever has scored the most points wins and in case of a tie, the player who scored the highest point total in any of the 3 rounds wins

Om Nom Nom Round-Up

This is a quick and fun game. Lots of bluffing and double bluffing. The game can be made by banter when you’re selecting a card, trying to get in people’s heads, throw them off, and point out how much cheese there is knowing you’re playing your cat this round.

The downside is some people decide to just play randomly which for me is against the spirit of the game. The game comes from the guessing/second-guessing and a random player throws this out the window. (They never win by the way).

I was told by one of these random players that the game is random anyway so it doesn’t matter. I did point out that out of the 3 games we played, I won all 3, must just be lucky huh? 🙂

Om Nom Nom Rating

It’s not for everyone, but I like wheeling it out as a quick filler for 6 players.

I give it 7/10
