Top 10 Cooperative Board Games

I like games where we all work together and some of my favourite games of all time are co-op games.

But, for me, there needs to be something to stop one player trying to run the game for everyone because it ruins the game for the majority a lot of the time. In this list, I include games that do this in some way…

What is a cooperative board game?

A cooperative board game is a game where players work together to achieve a goal. Example – Pandemic

But, this can be split further into a few subsections.

Team Game – Where two teams compete against each other, but players on those teams are working together. Example – Tension

One vs Many – Where one player is on a team of their own trying to achieve a goal while the other players are working together to complete a different goal or defeat the solo player. Example – Letters from Whitechapel

Social Deduction/Traitor – Similar to the one vs many style of game, except ‘the one’ (or more) in this case is hidden. Example – Werewolf

Semi-Coop – This is a game where players are trying to achieve a goal, but only one player will win the game. Example – Marvel Legendary
