Dodelido Extreme First Impressions

Dodelido Extreme is a simple game that messes with your head.

Can you call out the right string of nonsense sounds?

Players place a card from their hand onto a discard pile, then call out characteristics of what they see.

Dodelido Extreme Game Play

Players take turns flipping over a card from their own hand, creating 4 piles of cards. These are played on top of 4 piles round and round in order.

When a player plays a card they have to say something depending on how many cards have the majority looking at the animal and colour.

If the majority of cards on the table are an animal or a colour, you say that animal or colour. If there is no majority, just say ‘Nought’.

For example, if there are 3 Lions and 1 Giraffe and they are all different colours, you would say “Lion”.

But, if there is a sloth, you have to say ‘Oh’ beforehand.

DoDeLiDo Extreme Cards

If a majority covers multiple things over 3 cards as in the above image with 2 pink cards and 2 Lions you say ‘DoDeLiDo’. But, because there is also a sloth you would have to say ‘OhDoDeLiDo’.

For a two-card majority, you say ‘DoDo’ and for all 4 cards, you say ‘DiDeLiDi’.

Say the wrong thing and you pick up all the cards and start a new round.

There are some other cards like one where you have to slap your hand on the table, the last person takes all the cards.

Get rid of all your cards first and you win.

Theme

I don’t think so… I’m sure the animals have some meaning for someone but they probably just needed easily recognisable images.

Setup

Shuffle and deal… I believe that’s it.

Components & Artwork

The cards are standard, no idea why they’re a circle although it does make scooping up and shuffling easier.

The art is fun.

Ease of Teaching & Accessibility

I mean, there are very few rules you just need them to sink it.

I don’t know what the official rule is for how long players have to say what they need to say after playing a card but you could give leeway to newer players.

Dodelido Extreme Summary

This is a very fun game, very tense as it’s easy but it’s also VERY easy to make a mistake. It’s like Ghost Blitz in this way.
