5 Second Rule asks you to give 3 correct answers.
Can you do it in 5 seconds?
It should be easy to name 3 breeds of dogs – but can you do it under the pressure of 5 seconds, and with the other players staring at you, waiting for you to get flustered?
5 Second Rule Game Overview
Quick Rules Summary
Questions ask you to give 3 correct answers in 5 seconds. Succeed and you move forward one space. Fail and the next person tries, but can’t use any answers given so far.
You have a once per game switch card you can use to switch out the question on your turn. You also have a Pass On card you can pass the question to the next player. If they fail, you succeed.
Succeeding means you move forward one space on the board.
Fail on the ‘Danger Zone’ space and you miss your next turn.
How do you win?
Get to finish first to win.

Main Mechanisms
It’s a real time quiz game. The Pass On card could be considered push your luck I guess.
Theme
Erm, no.
Setup & Rulebook
Setup is easy. The cards sit in a holder in the box so just pull that out. There are so many you won’t ever need to shuffle them.
Components & Artwork
The components are very basic but do the job. The pawns are circular but you’re supposed to lay them down when missing a turn but they roll.
The buzzer is fun. You hit it to start the timer and if you press it before the 5 seconds runs out it dings.
Ease of Teaching
Couldn’t not be more simple.
I found explaining the Switch and Pass On cards to non-gamers quite the effort.

5 Second Rule Review
Positives
Quick and fun gameplay.
If you’re later in turn order you get more time to think but can’t use any previous answers which is a really clever balancing mechanism.
There are a tonne of double sided cards.
Negatives
It’s a one trick pony.
Summary
A really fun game to play with friends and family.
