Treasures & Traps Card Game First Impressions

Treasures & Traps.

Traps and Treasures.

Take that at its finest.

Treasures and Traps is the adventure card game that puts you on a quest for riches. Each card can open the door to a tricky challenge, a magical assistance, or a valuable treasure.

A very simple game, The aim is to control a Bronze, Silver and Gold treasure.

Each player starts with a hand of 5 cards and has two actions.

Treasures & Traps Game Play

You play a card from your hand which could be a spell, item, creature or treasure and roll a D6 to beat its “Enter” value to be able to play the card.

These cards go in front of you or in front of other players. Some are one-shot cards that go to the graveyard after resolving.

These cards boost your die rolls, lower your opponent’s rolls, steal items from players, protect your items, etc

VERY much take that.

As one of your actions, you can roll vs the ‘Exit’ number on a card in play to remove it.

As soon as someone has one of each of the 3 treasure types they win, simple.

Very nice light and fun game but frustrating! I recently said ‘I’m the Boss‘ was the game Munchkin wishes it was, and so is this.

Treasures & Traps Update 29/05/2018

So I don’t remember this game that much but I remember it being annoying 🙂

Not only do you have players against you, placing traps in your way. But, you also have the luck element of the die that seems to be working against you too 🙂

Right now, I think Looterz is the closest game I would rather play. Either that or maybe Firefly Fluxx which is around the same weight.

Looterz particularly has the dungeon crawl aspect and the choice to either gain treasure yourself or pick on your opponents. But in this game players need to play correctly and attack opponents. if players just keep Looting the game is really boring.

So there is room in my collection for a small take that game.
